Our Story

Integrity Healthcare Solutions is more than a company — it is the heart-work of its founder and CEO, Tabitha Elizabeth Smith, a woman whose life and career have been shaped by compassion, advocacy, and an unshakable faith in God. Anyone who knows Tabitha knows that caring for others isn’t just what she does — it’s who she is.

As a Proud Hampton Roads native, Her journey began as a young girl watch both her mom and dad care for her grandparents and siblings. She grew up as a very active member of her charge, where she learned the foundation of her Christian Faith and the importance to serve others.

Her professional journey began in 2003 as a young Recreation Therapy Assistant in a dementia care unit in a Nursing Home. There she lead daily meaningful activities and centered around residents with Dementia. Even then, her empathy and natural connection with elders stood out. Quickly gaining the attention of prominent Long Term Care Leaders in her field, she quickly gained the trust of her colleagues and began to grow her Long Term Care Administration background. Tabitha just didn’t just help run programs — she listened to her patients, colleagues and mentors, she learned and read about her patients and residents, and she loved doing what she loved. Her daily goal was to teach and share with her care team, more about who the clients were that they were taking care of. Truly personalize they care engagement experience. The seniors she worked with weren’t patients to her; they were teachers, storytellers, and sacred lives worthy of knowing.

Motivated to grow in her service, Tabitha returned to school and completed her bachelor’s degree in Health Services Management at Norfolk State University in 2007. From there, her career evolved through roles in Director of Marketing and Long Term Care Admissions, Community and Home Base Case management, Care coordination and leadership roles . In 2011, after 9 years of dedication and Tabitha became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator after completing an  State Approved Administrator in Training Program at Riverside Regional Convalescent Center, at the time, the largest Nursing Home in Virginia. She then earned a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law  from Loyola University Chicago in 2017 — all while raising a family with her husband and  working hands-on in the field she loved.

Her impact expanded further when she joined Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, Hampton Roads Agency on Aging.  In their Long Term Care Department where she oversaw a caseload of over 70 clients assisting older adults through care navigation and care coordination of services. Over time, her skills were needed in their I-Ride Transportation Program. There, Tabitha helped lead multiple senior focused non-profit transportation programs, managed a 42 vehicle fleet and the largest team in the agency. In this role she also supported countless family caregivers, and championed better systems  while engaging community partners and leveraging funding  to help adults to age in place ,with safety with dignity, while also having  access to affordable transportation options to congregate sites for meals, senior programing and medical appointments.

She served not from a distance, but wearing boots on the ground — often driving elders to appointments herself, checking on caregivers and patients late at night, and advocating fiercely in board rooms, meetings  and bedside conversations alike.

Tabitha also served in community roles such as the Western Tidewater Alzheimer's Walk Mission Chair from 2019-2022 and sat on the Board of Directors for the Community Transportation Association of Virginia from 2019-2022.

In 2017,  Tabitha’s beloved father — a proud veteran — became increasingly ill. Over the course of 5 years she would  take care of her father. However, balancing full-time leadership and caregiving had became unsustainable. With courage and conviction, she stepped away from her career to care for him full-time until he passed away October 2022.  He became her daily reminder of why our work in the communities assisting families and patients matter.

That deeply personal journey laid the foundation for Integrity Healthcare Solutions, founded in 2019.  Through caring for her father and other family members, Tabitha poured into it all she had learned — professionally and personally — to build a company that would serve others the way she had served her dad: with dignity, and trust.

The name “Integrity” is no coincidence. And neither is the inspiration behind the name “Tabitha” — the biblical Dorcas.  Rather than  have the spotlight focused on her accomplishments, Tabitha  too would like to be known for her good works and charity, so she walks in that same spirit today. She does not just lead a company. She lives a mission. And Integrity Healthcare Solutions is her personal expression and  offering — to GOD, her family, and her community.

Her company is an extension and expression of her calling: to lift up the overlooked, give a voice to the vulnerable, and be a bridge to knowledge and  information to help you make sound informed  decisions about your care.

Today, Integrity Healthcare Solutions  is a Professional Agency governed by Kingdom Faith principles. It has grown to a  team of  experienced  and licensed advisors, clinicians, and consultants to supports older adults and people with disabilities through Medicaid service facilitation enrollement, geriatric case management, health care navigation for  patients, private level of care transitions, medical care management services,  medical record and documentation review and elder abuse investigation inquiries.
